The article presents the results of the issue of the journal “Territorial development issues” for February – July 2015. The journal’s issues were analyzed in areas such as the composition of its Editorial Council, the share of articles by foreign contributors, geographical distribution of authors, the number of articles of specialists of the highest scientific qualification in the total number of publications, statistics of visits to the journal’s website by Internet users. The study has shown that the scientific online journal published by the Institute of Socio-Economic Development of Territories of RAS as of July 2015 complies with many requirements of international databases to scientific periodicals. In the course of the analysis the author has revealed that the number of publications of scientists, who are not employees of the Institute, is maintained at more than 20%, the proportion of articles written by specialists of the highest scientific qualifications in the total number of articles published in February – July 2015 is significant and equals to 43.8%. The article shown that the development policy implemented by the journal’s Editorial Council has led to the increase of interest in the publication; it is reflected in a multifold increase in the number of views of the journal’s website in 2015. The article also notes that according to the two-year impact factor RSCI for 2014, the journal ranked 80th out of 285 in the rating of multidisciplinary journals. In conclusion, the work summarizes the general results and outlines goals for the development of the journal in the near future
